The California Boat Launch Site Index  was launched in February of 2007. It was launched with as much information as we had in the hopes that users would help develop it further.  As this site grows, we hope to expand the information to include other states.  This software I wrote to develop this site is modular in that it can easily be used to include information for other states.  Already, good launch site indices exist for a few other states.  This site links to those pages in an effort to help centralize launch information for manually powered craft.  While these other sites that we link to contain a fair amount of put-in information, they still lack route descriptions,  water trail information, and GPS coordinates.  As we develop this website, we plan to include other states (even those that we link to) so users can enter their own route descriptions and paddle reports.
