| This boat launch index website is a Wiki - a website that
allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and
otherwise edit and change available content,
without the need for registration. This ease of interaction and
operation makes a wiki an effective tool for mass collaborative
authoring. To use this page, simply click on a numbered location in the
map (or a text link below). You will be re-directed to a
new page that has lots of location specific put-in information for
kayaks, canoes, and other manually powered craft. If the page for that location
doesn't have complete information, you can edit it by clicking the "edit this page"
link at the top or bottom of the page. There, you will be
allowed to edit several of the fields for the benefit of other
users. Please edit responsibly! Try to put the appropriate
information in each field. For example, don't put Parking
information in the Amenities field. Also, in an effort to
prevent vandalism, your IP address will be logged when you make
an edit.
You will not be allowed to edit every field. If you
would like to submit a link to an external site, please use the
Contact Us Form to suggest an external link. We will
manually review your submissions, and post them if they are
appropriate. An example of an appropriate submission would
be a link to your trip report for the specified location. Your trip report can be in any format you like, as it will be
hosted remotely from our site. You are encouraged to help us link to
trip reports, as they are a very valuable resource for paddlers.
You can also suggest a new site. Suggesting a new site will put a new
dot on the map. After you suggest a site, it will be added to the master
database. You can then add descriptive information at your leisure.
Others can edit the descriptive information, but the suggested site cannot be
changed (other users will not be able to change your map coordinates, given site
name, etc).
Please do not assume that all of the information contained in
this site is absolute fact. This site is intended to be a
useful resource and guide. As with any guide service,
there is always a possibility for errors. This possibility
is increased by the multiple-editor nature of this guide.
Before you leave, check the maps, and compare them with what you
are reading. Does the information make sense? Use
your paddlers sense to verify conditions once you arrive to the
put-in. If something doesn't seem safe, don't do it!
If you discover something that might be dangerous or helpful for
other paddlers, please come back and help edit our site.
You may save other kayakers a lot of hassle and time.
Remember that you are responsible for your own actions. |
