Put-in information for Monterey - Beach Launch State of California

Overview: When the swell is low, this is a popular launch site for beginners and intermediate paddlers. There are two kayak rental shops nearby, making it easy for people who don't own kayaks to get on the water. The water is particularly clear here (and is popular with divers)

Directions: Harbor Office is at 250 Figueroa Street Monterey, CA 93940, which is next to the beach launch

Parking: Paid Parking is across the street. It can get crowded during a summer weekends. There are pull thru spots for trailers, but they are not marked as such. You park and 'inform' the parking fee machine that you are paying for a trailer as well. The launch is across about 100 yards of sand: half of which is soft.

Facilities: There are bathrooms and kayak rental shops here.

Amenities: Many restaurants/fast food places are an easy walk from the parking lot.
