In case you have chanced upon this page, you may wonder what the Autumnal Fiesta is.  The whole event started in 1996 with an over night trip to Black Mountain with some Santa Clara University students.  Since then, participation has varied - peaking with nearly 30 people (in 1997!)  For a few years, we mixed up locations in an effort to draw more participants.  Black Mountain requires that people hike a couple of miles (up a substantial hill) to get to the party site.  Each year, we have gathered on or around the third weekend in October to go camping, eat good food, win some small prizes, laugh, and drink around a camp fire (or camp stove).  In spite of the rigors of arriving to the site, Black Mountain (in the hills above Saratoga and Cupertino, California) remains as the perfect spot to celebrate the third week in October - in fact, the largest group we ever had was on Black Mountain.  It is also a perfect location for the cyclists who do all of their work on Saturday (climbing to an elevation of 2,880 feet).  They then get to enjoy an all downhill ride the next day to Silicon Valley.  Everyone gets to enjoy the sweeping views over the Pacific Ocean - perfect for watching an October sunset.  A short hike takes you to see beautiful views of the South Bay Area and the city lights.  The main courses of dinner and breakfast are provided every year - though it is suggested that you bring some snacks and water.  Expect pasta for dinner, and pancakes for breakfast.  If you are looking to meet a fun, random group of cyclists and hikers, please feel free to sign up and let us know that you are coming!
