Description / Put-in information	We put in at Crissy Field. Parking is free here at Crissy Field. To get there from downtown San Francisco, head southeast on 11th St toward Mission St. Turn right at Mission St. Turn right at S Van Ness Ave. Turn left at Bay St. Continue on Laguna St. Laguna St turns left and becomes Marina Blvd. Keep going straight as Marina turns into Mason St. Continue on Mason St. about 0.6mi, and then turn right into the large parking lot. On this day, we paddled with Peter to Horse Shoe Cove to meet some kayakers from BASK and WSK. Here, we paddled with 8 others - Norm, Ray, Gordon, Marjorie, Amber, Steve, Dick, and Tom. We first headed to Alcatraz, and then around Angel Island. There are two tidbits of useful (legal information) that I learned during this trip. The first: it is a federal offense to come within 300 yards of Alcatraz island (I assume that only applies to non commercial trips). So treat Alcatraz as if it were a hauled out seal. The second tidbit is that you need a permit to land anywhere (other than Ayala cove) on Angel Island. The permit must be arranged in advance, and it costs $3.00 per person... or is that $3.00 per boat? Our group paid the per person rate rather than the per boat rate. As always, pay attention to your currents. At certain times, currents can get pretty swift here turning a quick crossing into an ordeal.
