This site was launched on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. It was launched with a minimum of information in the hopes that users would help develop it and keep it current. The aim is to continue developing the site so it has all the information one needs to set out for a new paddling destination. Anyone who is interested in kayaking or
canoeing is encouraged to contact us with suggestions on how this site can be improved.
We've recently accomplished our goals of adding an interface so users can
upload pictures of the launch sites, and (more importantly) their GPS tracks in
GPX format. Once we start to build a GPS routes database, users will be
able to follow the bread-crumb trails on their GPS while visiting a new launch
site.
There has been some interest in adding information for kayak fishing.
If you have suggestions as to how that might be developed, use the contact form
to let us know your suggestions for kayak
fishing.
The next main project is more of a long term one. If there is a positive response to this site,
we will expand it to include Central California (and perhaps the entire state eventually).
