The Seaward Passat Tandem is one of the fastest tandem kayaks you can buy. It's 22' length alows you to track perfectly, and focus on going straight - fast. This boat easily outpaces singles. It is also quite stable with it's (relatively narrow) 26" beam. While not the perfect boat for kayak fishing, this boat would be good for couples who want to cruise along together - close enough to talk, but far enough so their paddles don't clash. This boat has the rare combination of amazing stability combined with speed. Most kayaks compromise one or the other. One compromise that you do make with this boat is turning ability. All turns pretty much require the rudder - so it's not the best boat for paddling up local creeks. This kayak is best for paddling around in the SF bay, the local esteros, and the open ocean. We've used this kayak for open ocean voyages - including Santa Cruz to Monterey, and 4 major crossings in the Channel Islands... It served us EXTREMELY well.
