The Seaward Quest is one of the fastest touring kayaks you can buy. Combine that with kevlar construction, and you have a super light, fast, fun kayak. When loaded, this boat excels in rough and smooth water conditions. It is not the easiest kayak to turn (making it unsuitable for rock gardening, for example) but while it is slow to come about, it tracks in a perfectly straight line. Cruising is as effortless as it could be in a closed deck kayak. In this kayak, I can easily out pace any of my friends within a couple of minutes due to it's superior hull speed. When loaded, this kayak handles even better than it does unloaded! I haven't weighed it, but since it is kevlar. This boat is ~50lbs... VERY LIGHT for a boat this length.
