Having trouble removing big gaps

Hello,

I'm having an issue using the Remove Big Gaps feature when exporting my ride. I'm trying to upload a specially-designed ride I did today but Strava keeps adding the straight lines between points. I have the Remove Big Gaps settings all the way down (10 seconds, 1000m) but the straight lines still show up when I do it. Any advice?

Thanks!

Thank you for your question. Strava will ALWAYS show a straight line. This is because Strava is designed to show continuous activities. You can send them a feature request to optionally "ignore gaps"... but most people want Strava to "fill in the gaps" between the individual points recorded by the GPS - that is what makes it look like a line.

In the case of GOTOES, I delete the track (and timestamps) between the gaps, and some software will show it as such. For example, gpsvisualizer.com will show track segments no problem. Unfortunately, fitness software will not because activities are seen more as being continuous events. I hope that helps you understand.

Ah okay that makes sense, bummer. Thank you for the quick reply!
