Merging activities from different days

Goodafternoon,

I am sorry if there already is a topic about this somewhere, I could not find it and already tried some things to fix this problem but unfortunately was not able to.

I am trying to merge some TCX files together, this always has worked fine for me. But in this case it are a few different files from different days (multi-day hike) so for example: have an activity from Saturday during the day and an activity from Sunday during the day. I would like the total time to ignore the gap between the two files (Saturday to Sunday night). This so that my total time is actually my total hiking time, not the total time I have been out on trail including the time I spent in my tent haha.

Would appreciate some help with this! Thanks in advance! :D

Did you try using the "Ignore Big Gaps" checkbox?

viewtopic.php?p=250#p250

Also, just to give you a heads up: GPX and TCX files do NOT store moving/stopped time. It's impossible to do this because there is nowhere in the schema to store that type of information. This means that platforms like Strava and Garmin will ALWAYS try to calculate moving and stopped time, and may potentially include unwanted time. FIT gives you more control over time, though I have noticed that Strava sometimes overrides this! Please see that link above for more info where some of this topic has been addressed.

As far as total time (vs moving stopped time), I think that total time on most platforms is ALWAYS going to be the time from the first point to the last point... so maybe we won't be able to achieve exactly what you want.
