Strava says this is a duplicate file!

There are two ways to solve this.
Method 1: Delete your original file from Strava (the one that the merged file is a duplicate of). The only issue with this method is that you will lose your kudos and comments.
Method 2: Select the "Randomize ID Tag" option. When you select this option from the GOTOES File Merge Tools, it will randomly change the date stamp for the <metadata> and <id> tags. These are the tags where Strava currently looks to see if an activity is duplicated. NOTE that this is a hack! Strava is in the business of detecting segments, but 9 times out of 10, my tool can "trick" Strava. If you really need to upload duplicate activities, try to process the file again (from the beginning) to make sure it gets a new random tag.
The disadvantage with this method is that you now actually have a duplicate ride on Strava, which may concern you if you're trying to accurately track mileage. I recommend that if you have activities that you know you're going to have to merge - use our tool first before uploading the individual files. That way, you won't start getting kudos and comments on an orphaned partial ride.
