I just became a Donor, but I still can't access the Features

Thank you for becoming a GOTOES supporter! Once you donate, an account will be created on the GOTOES website that allows you to access additional features. Depending on your donor level, you will have access to various features.

Instructions
-- Paypal Donors
-- Patreon Donors
-- Venmo Donors
-- Bitcoin, or Ethereum Donors
-- Other Credit Card Donors

Troubleshooting
-- Wrong Email Registered with PayPal
-- Donated Less than $3 USD
-- Apple Private Relay Email

If you donate with PAYPAL (Instant Access):
A $10 donation or more unlocks the features; $3 or more will remove the reminder to donate screen.

Once you have made a donation with PayPal, a GOTOES account will be automatically created for you with your PayPal email address. Please go to the GOTOES log in page. If you already have a GOTOES account, log in here. Otherwise, you will need to use the "Forgot Password" link here to create your first password. If you have an old or outdated email address with PayPal, here are instructions on how to fix that.

This is what your dashboard should look like if you have donated. Please be sure that if you create a new account (or try to log into an automatically created account) that you use the EXACT SAME EMAIL ADDRESS as the one you supplied to PayPal, Patreon, or me via Venmo when you donated. Thank you for your contribution to GOTOES!

If you donate with PATREON (Instant Access):
A monthly $3 subscription will unlock features AND remove the reminder to donate screen.

Once you have made a donation with Patreon, a GOTOES account will be automatically created for you with your Patreon email address. Please go to the GOTOES log in page. If you already have a GOTOES account, log in here. Otherwise, you will need to use the "Forgot Password" link here to create your first password.

**IMPORTANT - if you donated, please use the EXACT SAME EMAIL address that you used when you donated. This could be your PayPal email address, or the address that you gave to Patreon. If you used Applepay and a private email address with Patreon, your email will look something like this:
You will need to use that email to get your donor benefits. If you used Apple Pay and do not know your private email address, log into Patreon and look it up. Some Hints on how to deal with this can be found here.

If you donate with VENMO (Instant Access):
Venmo: A $10 donation or more unlocks the features; $3 or more will remove the reminder to donate screen.

If you donate with Venmo, please make sure that your account's email address appears in your Venmo Comment; to have your account instantly credited, it must look like this:

GOTOES will automatically populate the email address and it looks like this

If you do it like this (i.e. signed into a GOTOES account), you will gain instant access to all of the additional GOTOES features! If you edit the comment, your account's email address will NOT be detected, resulting in delays.

If you changed the comment so that your email is not auto detected, please contact me to let me know that you just donated and would like for me to manually enter your donation. This is NOT INSTANT, so it is much better if you do NOT edit the Venmo comment. Also, you need to be logged into a GOTOES account for this to work.

After I create your account with the email address you sent me, I will write back and let you know that your account is ready. If you already have a GOTOES account, I will add your donation to that account. You can log in here. If I you did not already have a GOTOES account, I will make one for you, and you will need to use the "Forgot Password" link here to create your first password.

If you donate with Bitcoin, or Ethereum (NOT instant):
Ethereum/Bitcoin: A $10 donation or more unlocks the features; $3 or more will remove the reminder to donate screen.

If you donate using one of these methods, please put your email address in the donation comments or contact me via the GOTOES web contact form. I will manually create an account for you. This is NOT INSTANT, so only use one of these methods if you're willing to wait up to 24 hours for me to create your account.

Alternatively, please use the contact link to let me know that you just donated and would like to receive an unlock code.

If you have any problems with the above, contact me here and I will try and help you!

If you donate with Stripe (Instant):
Stripe: A $10 donation or more unlocks the features; $3 or more will remove the reminder to donate screen.

Gotoes added a new payment processor called "Stripe" in November 2025. This allows GOTOES to accept all sorts of payment methods, depending on the country in which you live. You are using Stripe if you used the donate button that looks like this:

You can only donate via Stripe if you're logged into a GOTOES account. That way, GOTOES will send Stripe your GOTOES email address, which is how GOTOES knows to credit YOUR account when the payment is completed and Stripe sends a ping (usually within a few seconds). If you are not logged into your GOTOES account, the option to donate via Stripe will be disabled.

Stripe allows you to use all sorts of different payment types. For example, on my computer, I can use Link, Apple Pay, and a Credit card. If you have Google Pay, that option will appear instead. Same for Amazon Pay. In countries outside of the USA, even more payment options will be shown, depending on what is available on your system/country.

This method of payment should be fully automated, but if you have an issue, contact me here and I will try and help you!

Troubleshooting

Wrong Email Address

The most common problem is that the user has an old or inaccessible email address registered with PayPal. When they donate, the donation goes to that old email address and not to the GOTOES account that the user is currently using. To fix this, you have three options:
  • OPTION 1: If GOTOES detects a discrepancy in your email addresses, you will receive an email to BOTH of your emails (the PayPal email as well as the one you have registered with GOTOES). That email will contain a link that you can click to transfer your donation from one account to the other. (timeframe: instant)

  • OPTION 2: Correct your email address with PayPal and donate again. (timeframe: instant)
  • OPTION 3: Contact me and let me know the incorrect email address as well as the one you want to use. (timeframe: up to 24 hours)

Insufficient Donation
If you donated less than $3 USD, this will not unlock any of the features. To resolve the issue, please donate the difference between the amount you already donated and the tier you are trying to achieve. Because of the fee structure of PayPal, making a donation this small means that you are donating MORE TO PayPal than you are to GOTOES - especially if a foreign currency is involved!

I have posted the donation tiers here:
If you can think of a better location on the website to convey this information, please contact me

Apple Private Relay Email
  • Verify Hide My Email Settings:
    • On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Hide My Email.
    • Ensure the private relay email address (e.g., [email protected]) is active and not disabled. You’ll see a list of all random email addresses created for apps or websites.
    • Check the forwarding setting to confirm emails are sent to your primary iCloud email address (e.g., [email protected]). You can also copy the private relay email from this page if needed.
  • Check Your iCloud Email:
    • Open the Mail app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or log into iCloud.com and go to the Mail section.
    • Look for forwarded emails in your Inbox or Junk folder, as private relay emails may sometimes be filtered there.
    • If you don’t have an iCloud email account set up, you may need to create one by going to iCloud.com, signing in, and selecting Mail to activate it. Once set up, private relay emails should forward to this account.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • If emails aren’t appearing, ensure Private Relay is enabled in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Private Relay.
    • Confirm your device is running iOS 15/iPadOS 15 or later, as Hide My Email requires these versions.
    • If you used Hide My Email with a third-party app or website (e.g., Canva, Expedia), verify the specific private relay address created for that service in the Hide My Email settings, as each app or site gets a unique address.
    • If emails still don’t arrive, check with the app or website to ensure they sent the email, as some services may not properly interact with private relay addresses.
  • Accessing on Other Devices:
    • Private relay emails are forwarded to your iCloud email, so you can access them on any device where your iCloud email is set up (e.g., via the Mail app or iCloud.com).
    • Note that there’s no direct login to a @privaterelay.appleid.com mailbox; it’s a forwarding service, not a standalone email account.
Important Notes:
  • If you’re not receiving emails, some users report issues with certain apps or websites not properly forwarding emails through Apple’s relay service. In such cases, you may need to update the app/website settings to use your primary email instead, if possible.
  • For further assistance, refer to Apple’s support article on Hide My Email.
