Re: WAHOO + GARMIN FIT FILE

hi Susigan -

Do you think you can send me a screenshot of the field that you're missing? I looked at your two source/original files in my FIT file viewer and did not see a filed called "DFA" - Maybe you could indicate which field is missing with a screenshot?

Re: How to get rid of Donation Nag Screen

Rowland-

This is better handled by using the contact form because I’d need your email address to connect your donation with your gotoes account. The solution is to log into your gotoes account with the same one you used when you made the original donation. If you were not logged into gotoes when ...

Re: How To Fix Stryd Dropouts

Thanks for the detailed notes — I dug into your files and here’s what I think is happening and (hopefully) how to resolve it with the current GOTOES options.

Why this is happening
Your Stryd file contains four 10‑second STOP/START pauses ( you can see them in the FIT “event” data ). In FIT files ...

Re: How To Fix Stryd Dropouts

Sorry, I am having trouble understanding the start / stop thing. I figure that everything should align perfectly because both Garmin and Stryd have UTC timestamps, so they should “line up”. Sorry to make you do more work, but can you maybe send me a screenshot or explain to me like I’m 5.. I don’t ...

Re: Does the Merge Tool also combine developer fields from two FIT files?

@j4m1eb - I just wrote to Tymewear for clarification on how the device syncs time. It will be interesting to see if that is the cause. Meanwhile, consider doing a time-shift on your GPS file using the GOTOES timestamp tool . When I released the new update, one of the things I did was ensure that ...

Re: Does the Merge Tool also combine developer fields from two FIT files?

@j4m1eb - OK, I spent the better part of the day analyzing your files and working on GOTOES to try and make it work for you. Here is my thought:

First: intervals.icu seems to have some issues (at least in my browser). The time of day is "cut off" on the far left hand side of the screen. Also, when ...

Re: Does the Merge Tool also combine developer fields from two FIT files?

This is interesting.. All of your files are offset by 14 minutes? I'm working on this today, but was wondering if you could tell me how to reproduce these graphs on intervals.icu. I don't use that tool and want to be able to replicate the issue so I can fix it. Talk to me like I'm 5. Ok, maybe like ...

Re: Unknown field identified

OK, I added it as garmin_user_name. It's a provisional addition, so this field will not be used in export validation, but you will be able to see garmin_user_name* (the * indicates that it was a user supplied field name and not part of the official FIT spec). Thanks.

Re: WAHOO + GARMIN FIT FILE

The new GOTOES Merge engine is now the only (therefore default) merge engine. I have since removed the intermediate one. I am leaving this post up for historical purposes, but the new engine should address many of the Connect IQ "edge case" issues ...

Re: Does the Merge Tool also combine developer fields from two FIT files?

Hi guys -

Today I just released a new merge engine that is VERY beta. I'm looking for feedback to see if it resolves the issues discussed in this post. It does a lot more "cleanup" on the files. I am looking for feedback. The new engine is designed to fix a lot of issues that come up in these "edge ...

Re: Coros dev field not behaving correctly

OK, I think I see what the issue is. Sometimes the "Effort Pace" goes to zero in the GOTOES output file. This is because I didn't "carry over" the developer data fields in the way I used to. I've been working on an "intelligent" carry over algorithm, which I plan to introduce soon. I'll put it as a ...

Re: Unknown field identified

Thanks for that. I can look into adding it, but I will need a test file so I know more about that field. Meanwhile, I'm more interested in resolving your other post, so test files for THAT post would be appreciated. I am guessing it is a "carry over" issue. GOTOES used to carry over empty fields ...

Re: WAHOO + GARMIN FIT FILE

Hi! I’m trying to pin down exactly what’s going wrong so I can fix it for you.
Here’s what I did on my side:

1) I took both of your files and trimmed + merged them. (In your screenshot it looks like trimming wasn’t used, but for overlapping files it’s usually recommended)

2) I then merged them ...

FAQ: GOTOES is doubling my distance!

There are two types of ways you can merge files on GOTOES...

You can do a concatenated merge where you combine GPS files end-to-end. This is common in situations where your GPS died or ran out of battery and you started a new recording on your phone or some other device. These are merged end-to ...

FAQ: How to convert a FIT file to an eXcel file (.xlsx .xls)

GOTOES has added the ability to convert your FIT files into multi-page Spreadsheets. To do this, I am using the unified "Merge Tool". This may seem confusing because you can upload single files to the merge tool as well.

Step 1:
Upload your file(s) to the GOTOES Merge tool

Re: WAHOO + GARMIN FIT FILE

Re: Merging two ski activities yields incomplete results

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I'm still fine-tuning the new site. Your original files did not have elevation recorded; they just had "enhanced_elevation" - so as a default I set the new tool to substitute in enhanced_elevation for regular elevation if regular elevation is missing.

Also, one more ...

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ NEW WEBSITE!!! ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Hey guys! As some of you know, a lot has been going on behind the scenes at GOTOES.

This past summer, GOTOES started getting hit with a sustained bot/DDoS problem that (unfortunately) has continued. I turned on Cloudflare protection, but the attackers quickly found ways around it by bypassing ...
