Fenix 3 shows up only as Fenix on Strava
I'm not sure if this is on your side of Strava's but my Fenix 3 activities (correctly identified as such in your tool) show up simply as Fenix on Strava. This happens with both .gpx and .tcx formats. Thanks for your time and work!

Yes, this is a bug on Strava’s end that has been reported by many users. It is best that you write them and open a support ticket. This issue has to do with TCX and GPX files… not FIT files. If I embed “Fenix 3” in the TCX or GPX file, they only display it as “Fenix”. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything else that I can submit to them in terms of device information… because I’m already submitting the correct device info and they are ignoring part of it.

Re: Fenix 3 shows up only as Fenix on Strava
**UPDATE** To address this issue of GPS devices not showing up exactly as planned on Strava, I have added FIT export.
In a FIT file, the GPS information is embedded as a Product ID and a Manufacturer ID.
So, for a Garmin Fenix 3, the MFR ID is 1 (Garmin) and the Product ID is 2050. I put those numbers into the FIT file, and assuming that Strava has updated their database, you will see "Garmin Fenix 3" on your page. It seems like Strava maintains their FIT database which is number based a lot more frequently than their TCX/GPX database.
For the TCX/GPX files, I embed the actual GPS name "Garmin Fenix 3", for example. The problem seems to be that Strava has "dumbed down" their TCX/GPX interpretation so that they don't have to maintain a database for so many iterations of devices. Plus, with text names, it is a bit harder to make a match.
So, if you want your GPS name to show up correctly in Strava, exporting as FIT from my tool is your best bet.
