Start time on Strava does not match actual time

Post by GotoesUser »

I just used your tool to merge two fit files: 1 from my Garmin (with HR, power, cadence, temp) 1 from Zwift (position, elevation) Tool combines the files neatly, also displaying correct start time in the download page, but after uploading in Strava, start time is totally of (10hrs later in the day) A bit of a minor issue but it would be nice to have it really correct. Great set of tools !

You must select “Virtual Ride” when you use my tool to upload to Strava. What is happening is Strava is detecting the “fake” map made by Strava. Therefore, it is overriding the timestamps that my tool sends along. I was trying to figure this out, because no matter what time zone we specified, it would be overridden by Strava! But, if you select “virtual ride,” then Strava figures out that you didn’t ride in Fiji, and instead rode at home. I’ll add this to the FAQs, because it really confused me as well!
