How to un-do a previous GOTOES race repair?

Post by fatguypat »

Hi all,

I first came across Gotoes race repair tool a couple years ago, and I think at the time I started to correct some of my historical Strava data and perhaps I just didn't finish or did it wrong and stopped. Anyways, I am attempting to fix my recorded activity on Strava for a couple of marathons i ran a decade ago- Chicago and NY marathon.

1. For the Chicago Marathon- I recorded the activity with my iPhone via the Nike running app and it died at mile 23, regardless, the result/ chip times are still on the Chicago marathon website. As stated earlier, my previous attempts at fixing this resulted in the Strava activity showing a 3 min 50 sec per mile pace for the first few miles and I ultimately was unable to get the total distance/ times added onto the activity. I included a pic on what the Strava activity says. Would really appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction on what I should do first to fix this? I watched the tutorial vid but am still a bit confused since the file from strava I need to fix has already been "fixed", albeit incorrectly. Do I need to retrieve the original file from the Nike run club app to start fresh? any insight appreciated here.

2. For the Ny marathon- I also used the nike run club app but for some reason that activity cannot be found anywhere in my nike run club history. it is the strangest thing. But I do have my chip time as the results are still available online. Would the race repair feature still be suitable option here? I've given up trying to find the activity in my nike run app, so a Strava activity would just be created using the chip time available on the results website.

thank you!
